Logitech Halts Harmony line of products

This is Bracken Darrell, CEO of Logitech. Logitech just publicly announced a plan to hold the Harmony business for sale. Logitech is not shutting down the Harmony business and certainly not the service.

This corporate announcement does not impact Logitech’s commitment to our Harmony customers. During the sale, Logitech will continue to provide customer support for Harmony customers. All current warranties provided by Logitech for Harmony products remain unchanged at this time.

We very much appreciate our loyal Harmony community and will continue to support and communicate with our customers. Check back here for future updates on this topic.

Bij zo'n bericht vraag ik me af: waarom stoot je juist een goedlopend (en winstgevend?) product af?
Met name op PC-accessoires zouden ze wat kunnen afslanken, want sommige producten lopen niet echt goed.

Ja was ook hetgeen ik me afvroeg. Kennelijk is de afzet niet groot genoeg om rendabel te zijn. Maar grofweg een kwart van vrienden/familie heeft een Harmony...

Als die lijn wordt overgenomen door een andere fabrikant hoop ik dat ze gewoon doorgaan met de lijn zoals die is. De ondersteuning e.d. zijn helemaal perfect op dit moment namelijk.

Inderdaad, qua gebruiksvriendelijkheid en support is Harmony een topprodukt.

Heb zelf ook een aantal Logitech produkten in huis, ken geen merk met een betere service dan Logitech(y)

Het is een merk dat ik graag mag kopen als ze het produkt hebben dat ik zoek, heb eigenlijk alleen maar goede ervaringen met het merk.

Hier is oa een Harmony 515 in gebruik(NIET door mij;) ).

Een goed product maken en er veel succes mee hebben is één ding. Voldoen aan de vraag er naar is iets heel anders. Door de marketting voor de Harmony One, zijn er waarschijnlijk veel meer van verkocht dan van de andere modellen. Hierdoor is er nu ook weinig ruimte voor een vervanger. Dit zullen waarschijnlijk de redenen zijn dat ze die afdeling willen verkopen. :?

Met een goed produkt wat duurzaam is, zal je dus alleen succes hebben als de consument er voor wilt betalen en er vraag naar de vervanger is. ;)

Tot die tijd blijft het dus behelpen met de troep die je voor weinig geld kunt kopen. :(
