Morgen (25 mei) is het 34 jaar geleden dat Star Wars (A New Hope) in premiere ging.
Zojuist ben ik door Radio 1 geinterviewd (voor het programma Nu Al Wakker Nederland) over mijn 'fandom' en site.
Morgen wordt het uitgezonden en is het ook na te luisteren op hun website.

The Maker himself, George Lucas, appeared on G4's Attack of the Show on Monday and Tuesday nights to discuss three major contemporary Star Wars topics.

G4's Kevin Pereira interviewed Lucas and Disney Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald about Star Wars in 3D, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, and yes, briefly, the upcoming live-action series. Lucas and Fitzgerald described the unique nature of the new Disney ride and its evolution over the years. Lucas also discussed the challenges of converting the Star Wars film series to 3D and the fact that everyone involved is being very careful to do it right.

However, the hottest segment of the AOTS interview by far was the part where Lucas discussed the live-action TV show. Here are some of the things that he said about the eagerly-awaited series.

"We have 50 hours and we're just waiting to figure out a different way of making [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]movies[/COLOR][/COLOR], a different technology we can use ... to make it feasible to shoot the show."
"[W]hen we do figure this problem out it will dramatically affect a lot of movies."
"Right now it looks like the Star Wars features."

Last we heard, the series was still in the script stage, so this is a significant jump forward in the creative process. With Celebration VI hopefully just a year away, is there a chance that we'll have new live-action Star Wars footage waiting for us in [insert CVI city here]? Here's hoping!

Lucas laat met het heruitbrengen van de films in 3D, een CGI serie, en een nieuwe live-action serie echt zien dat 'ie klaar is met Star Wars en iets totaal anders wil doen

Dat laatste was een gerucht dat de britse komiek Mel Smith (regisseur van Lucasfilm productie Radioland Murders) de wereld in heeft geholpen.
Dit is afgelopen december al direct ontkend.

Nop. Is een fanfilm en geen officiele Lucasfilm productie.
Overigens is hij wel los op DVD verschenen.

Wellicht ben je in de war met http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/R2-D2:_Beneath_the_Dome

Deze staat op de DVD van Attack of the Clones en is ook los uitgebracht.
(de losse versie is meen ik iets langer.....al weet ik dat niet zeker; is al lang geleden dat ik 'em gezien heb)

After 20 years in development, it seems that George Lucas is ready to commit to an unofficial release date for Red Tails, his film about the lives of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American combat pilots in the United States Army Air Force, who fought in World War II.
The film is directed by Anthony Hemingway and produced by George Lucas. Hemingway tweeted yesterday (thank to IndieWire for finding it) that the film will be released in January 2012.

Zat net even te bladeren door de te verwachten films op Pathe.nl en zag daar tot mijn grote verbazing dat Episode 1 op 09-02-2012 wordt verwacht! Ben benieuwd wanneer deze keer de line-up begint...

I’m trying to get George [Lucas] to make a feature based on Boba Fett…I would like to [direct the film], it would be a lot of fun.

Ik was gisteren in de Efteling, en daar op het plein bij Fata Morgana hebben ze ook een LEGO Tentoonstelling.

Daar kwam ik o.a het volgende tegen, en dat wilde ik jullie niet onthouden :
