Star Wars als tv-serie?

Over de muziek gesproken, ik neem aan dat de rechten er zijn om de originele themes te gebruiken?

Ik denk ook dat WIlliams zijn tijd liever besteed aan film, maar dat hij bijv. wel de pilot zal doen bijv, en/of de finale en andere speciale episodes.

EDIT: Voor wanneer staat dit alles gepland trouwens? Worden het dan gewoon wekelijkse episodes van ongeveer 42 min. net als met andere Amerikaanse series? Ik ben geen die hard Star Wars fan, maar vind de film erg vermakelijk en hou wel van science fiction. Kan ook enorm genieten van de nieuwe Battlestar Gallactica, dus ga dit ook zeker volgen.

De rechten liggen dacht ik bij Lucasfilm, dus de themes zullen wel gebruikt mogen.

Ik zie niet hoe John Williams die 100 uur tussen zijn nu al druk bezet schema zal krijgen. De man moet ook nog tijd hebben om nieuwe themes te verzinnen. Denk toch dat hij graag goed werk levert en zijn tijd ervoor wilt nemen. Vooral voor zo'n project. Ik kan me vergissen.

Wellicht zal er het eea van de films gebruikt worden (kant en klaar materiaal dus).
Williams is trots op SW en zal lijkt mij wel iets doen. Zou ook zomaar kunnen dat hij enkele stukken schrijft die in meerdere episodes gebruikt kunnen worden.

Alle rechten zijn van Lucas zelf, dus die kan doen en laten wat hij wil.

McCallum vertelde me in april dat de eerste episode eind 2008 af zou zijn en dat ik 2009 de rest zou volgen. Ik kan me indenken dat het iets later zal worden.
Afleveringen zouden steeds 1 uur zijn wist hij verder te vertellen.
Maar goed; dit soort dingen kunnen altijd veranderen.

Zelf hoop ik dat het iets gaat worden in de trant van 'Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina' , 'Tales from Jabba's Palace' en 'Tales from the Bounty Hunters'.

Ik ben benieuwd, hopen dat het budget wel voldoende groot is, zodat we niet van die ongelooflijk ondermaatse special effects krijgen zoals vaak bij tvfilms en series.

Heb er iig wel zin in, maar 100 afleveringen voordat het ook maar begonnen is lijkt me iets overdreven. Heb liever dat een seizoen bijv 12 afleveringen van een uur duurt dan 25 in een seizoen zodat je van zo een afleveringen krijgt om maar wat te vullen zoals met veel series van zo een opzet

Ik twijfel ook niet aan zijn kunnen (dat wil zeggen: op dit gebied ), maar het draait uiteindelijk allemaal om het budget. Met te weinig centen kan zelfs Lucas er weinig van maken.

De Live Action serie:

• "The series will be about brand new characters, a group of people we haven't seen yet, except Boba Fett, who will be an instrumental part of it. The series will also showcase other bounty hunters."

• "What happens to an empire. It's a much darker, much more character-based thing. It's not as plot-driven." "...look like a feature on a television budget, with all new characters, new environments, new planets, and trying to keep the storyline alive for a lot of people."

• "We have two great writers from England, one from Australia, and three from the United States." We're going to try and hash out the first three or four episodes."


EXCERPTS:

• Four Concept Artists have been working on designs for the show. One of which is Erik Tiemens, who worked on Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith.

• McCallum says they hope to have the first scripts by February 2008 since a November 2007 meeting was cancelled due to the Writers Guild strike. Lucasfilm may be making an independent deal with the Writers Guild of America.

• McCallum tells Star Wars Insider they hope to be shooting by the end of 2008 or early in 2009.

Bad news for "Star Wars" fans: the live-action TV series is still "years away", according to George Lucas.

Lucas spoke to a packed crowd at the Museum of Television and Radio in Los Angeles about plans to bring "Star Wars" to the small screen.

An animated series based on the Clone Wars is in development with Lucas to produce 100 episodes, but the live-action version is a long way off.

Lucas revealed that the show will follow four separate character arcs, with each episode dealing with one character ala "Lost".

Animated Clone Wars Theatrical Release?

Then again, nothing has been decided, though clearly, everybody that heard such a thing may happen got very excitied about it.

Before you read the information below, I'll tell you the news was big enough I knew we had to ask for confirmation from Lucasfilm before posting it. It's a good thing because LFL did have something to say about it. I realize you'll read this out of order, but I want to make sure nobody gets the wrong information.

When I asked Lucasfilm to comment on this news, here's what a Lucasfilm spokesman had to say:

"I'd like to clarify Hasbro comments this AM about the Clone Wars TV series. We see it as a breakthrough animated television series and are exploring a number of innovative ways to introduce it to the public. No decisions regarding release strategy have been made yet."

I followed up with just one question. Is a theatrical release introducing the series in the works and received this response: "It's one of the many things being discussed but we have no decisions yet. For us it's all about finding a creative way to launch a creative TV series."

Below is the specific information about this from the Hasbro Analysts meeting this morning. At the time I asked for comments from Lucasfilm, the meeting was still going on and Hasbro was expected to clarify their comments before the end of the meeting.

Note, that I'll emphasize again, there has been no Lucasfilm decision regarding this and there certainly has been no date set for anything.

During the Hasbro Fall 2007 Analyst Event this morning, they announced the much-anticipated "Star Wars" Clone Wars animated TV series would have a theatrical launch next year on August 8 and then on TV throughout the fall.

UPDATE: Our friend Bill from IHNRadio.com pointed us over to an article at Action-Figure.com regarding this years UK Toy Fair. The writer, Adrian, goes on to speak of how Hasbro keeps areas off limits to the press. See below for a snippet:

"This year, the line off limits to the press was Star Wars.

I couldn't see the logic in this, and so a bit of probing, I got to the bottom of this.

It seems that Clone Wars is going to be big in 2008, and Lucasfilm wants to keep a lot of it hush hush. I don't know much about the Hasbro product, but I do know a bit about Clone Wars.

You all know about the Clone Wars animated Series coming out, right? Well it's hitting this September, and will kick off (in the UK at least) with a cinematic release of the first 3 episodes (note this was confirmed by a couple of Star Wars licensees other than Hasbro). The rest of the episodes will then come out on a yet undecided TV channel."

Nothing has been officially announced yet and no word on how this relates to U.S audiences but lets face it, our hopes are up.

Officiële theatrical release is op 15 augustus. Volgens het bericht word het dan als een feature film vertoont alvorens men het als tv-serie uitzend op Cartoon Network en TNT...

Ik blijf die hele animatie lelijk en 'simpel' vinden, Star Wars onwaardig als je het mij vraagt. Laten ze maar gaan focussen op die live action serie. Heeft volgens mij meer bestaansrecht en zeker nu ik de nieuwe Terminator serie heb gezien. Ik was hier eerst erg op tegen, maar bij Terminator pakt dit fantastisch uit, mede door het grote budget wat Fox beschikaar heeft. Lucasarts heeft geld zat, dus laat ze maar een big budget live action serie in het Star Wars universum maken in plaats van deze cartoon network serie...

Ik ben nog niet helemaal overtuigd. Ik vond de Clone Wars tekenfilms er eigenlijk beter uitzien, maar misschien dat ik gewoon nog een beetje moet wennen. De stijl blijf ik waarderen, of het nu in 2d of 3d is.
En het idee van nog meer missies en veldslagen uit de Clone Wars spreekt me ook aan, alhoewel de zoon van Jabba een beetje geforceerd klinkt, had men niet beter een nieuw personage (of minder bekend) kunnen gebruiken?

Vergeten, ik ken het verhaal alleen uit de SW Encyclopedia. Ik heb het zelf helaas nog nooit gelezen.
