Heel mooi dit. Ik had de "normale" versie van de dvd-box en mede vanwege de extra's zou ik de upgrade wel durven wagen.

In the latest issue of Home Media Magazine, writer John Latchem interviewed Sofia Chang, Senior Vice President of Marketing for HBO Video with regards to the upcoming release of the mini-series 'John Adams' for DVD (no Blu-ray release has been announced at this time). At the conclusion of the interview, he asked when the popular 'Band of Brothers' mini-series would see Blu-ray release. She replied that a version was in the works for release later this year.

Currently, the only way to see 'Band of Brothers' in high definition is to import the now discontinued HD DVD releases from Japan (which were released by Toshiba). Now that HBO is readying the set, those highly anticipating the set (yours truly included) await anxiously for an official release date.

Warner Home Video has announced the Blu-ray release of Band of Brothers for the 11th November. Retail will be $99.98. The 6-disc set will include all 10 episodes of the award-winning mini-series, presented in remastered 1080p widescreen, along with DTS HD Master audio. Extra material includes an Interactive Field Guide including Soldier Bios, Historical Timeline, Map, Chain of Command and Glossary, Picture-In-Picture Video Commentary with the surviving members of Easy Company, and more.

mooie tinbox, net als de luxe dvd uitgave.

Ik heb tot nu toe eigenlijk gewacht met het aanschaffen van de serie omdat hij binnen niet al te korte tijd in hd zou verschijnen. Nu is ie er dan bijna.

Alleen nog even een blue ray speler aanschaffen dan...

Voor de zekerheid maar even in de pre-order geplaatst bij Play.com. Nette prijs. En aangezien de DVD daar ook NL subs bevat ga ik ervan uit dat ze dat bij de BD ook wel zullen doen. We zien wel.

Ook maar even gedaan 49 euro is geen geen geld. Daar kan ik de oude DVDbox nog bijna voor verkopen.

Al betwijfel ik nog wel, of er daadwerkelijk DTS HD Master op komt te zitten. Play.com is gewoon op het artwork af gegaan. Misschien geldt DTS HD alleen voor Amerika? Omdat HBO 'm daar misschien weer uitbrengt? Kijk maar Band of Brothers R1, die had wel DTS. De rest van de wereld niet.

Warner vertikt het om 448 bitrates op de DVD te zitten. Laat staan, DTS HD Master op Blu-ray.

Afwachten dus.

Dit is 1 van de must haves en voor die prijs ook meteen toegehapt. Dan kan ik in november iemand blij maken met de dvd's.

Op 11 november komt Band of Brothers hier in Nederland uit. De prijs bij Bol.com ligt vooralsnog op 99,99.
