Dat ze nu eens gewoon voort maken met de seizoen boxsets, dan zijn deze lekker overbodig

heh. dat was dus ook mijn eerste gedachte.

De box van season 3 ligt NET in de winkel, dus dan is deze titel zeker niet interessant. Ik vind de waarde van die uitgaves met 'losse' afleveringen sowieso maar matigjes.

In de recensie staat:

Als dat waar is dan heeft deze site (waar ik de info vandaan heb) het dus bij het verkeerde eind. Daarop wordt over THoH IX gemeld dat:

This was the first Simpson episode created without the characters painted on celluloid, from then until part of the fifthteenth season all hand drawn character animation was put through a computer, colored there, and put directly on the film, Today every Simpson episode is put through the digtal proccess. Background animation and all!

Die site heeft het idd bij het verkeerde eind. Waarschijnlijk zijn ze in de war geraakt, omdat THOH IX de 1e aflevering was met een ABF productie-code (AABF01). Hier is wat showrunner Al Jean zei over de animatie van seizoen 14 in augustus '02:

Expect a slightly different look for The Simpsons starting this December. From episode EABF01 "The Great Louse Detective" and onwards (EABF02, 03, 04...), The Simpsons' usual ink and paint cel animation will take back seat to the digital age, as the animation in every episode will began to be mostly done digitally, instead of by hand, which is what we've seen since the show's start, until the last DABF episode we see, which will likely be "Helter Shelter" (DABF21). The reason for the change is simply that these days it's becoming impossible to find people to work in ink and paint anymore, with today's advances in computer animation. To those of you who are uneasy about the change, rest assured that the look of the new animation will be upgraded from the attempt we saw in season 12's "Tennis the Menace" episode (the show's producers were not entirely happy with it), and it will still by very consitent with the animation of previous years. The next piece of digitally influenced animation you're going to see in the show will even show up before the entire show goes digitally painted, in November 3rd's "Treehouse of Horror XIII", in a sequence where Homer makes multiple clones of himself. This sequence will have even better graphics, like the human ball seen in "Sweets and Sour Marge".
